November is the time of year where the frosts become more frequent and the leaves are in full autumn colours

With the passing of the fall equinox the days have begun to get shorter and cooler. This means it’s time to start thinking about cleaning out your beds and closing them down for the winter.

September brings with it the closing of summer and the beginning of fall. This is a great time to harvest the last of your summer veg and it is also your last chance to get your fall and winter crops in the ground.

The heat has arrived at the Cambie & 59th garden, and wow, is it hot out there! Make sure you are watering your beds deeply and throughly every day or two to keep your plants happy and healthy.

June has arrived and summer is only moments away. With temperatures on the rise, it’s important to remember to water your plants thoroughly and more often so you can maximize your yields and increase your bounty over the summer months.

It’s now mid spring at the Cambie & 59th garden and all systems are a go. Make sure you are registered for your garden beds as the registration deadline is quickly approaching.

Spring is here at the Cambie & 59th garden and the growing season is really starting to kick off. There is a lot of uncertainty circulating around the city due to COVID-19 and we have some new rules and guidelines to follow so we can all stay safe and continue to garden.

We have updated our gardening guidelines to respond to COVID-19, and we ask that everyone read through and follow this new protocol. Our goal is to continue to facilitate gardening in the safest manner possible––we need your help doing this.

March 19th is officially the first day of spring and we’re excited to get this growing season started at the Cambie & 59th garden!

Registration is now open for the 2020 season at the Cambie & 59th garden. February is a great month to register and pay for your beds and to start planning out what you’re going to planting in them this spring!

We want to wish you all a very merry happy holidays. The water has been shut off at the garden and all beds have been put to rest. The temperatures have been dipping into the minus — it really feels like winter is here!

Fall is officially here. The leaves are changing colour, the mornings are cool and crisp and the sun is sitting lower in the sky. Autumn is the time to get out that nice wool sweater, plant your garlic for the spring and give thanks for all the bounty of the summer.
