Hello fellow gardeners,
It sure has been a slow start to spring in Vancouver! We have been loving how bright and green the gardens are looking with all this rain.
Here are a couple of garden updates and opportunities as June rolls in.
Reminder to Get Growing
We know it has been a slow, cold spring so far. If you haven’t had a chance to start your garden yet, this is the time to get growing! If you don’t have the capacity to make use of your beds, let us know and we can give them to someone on our long waitlist. We can’t wait to see what you grow!
To us, June is the month where gardening feels the most inspiring! In late spring/early summer, there is so much opportunity to grow a big, thriving garden! If you still need to fill up your garden boxes but aren’t sure what to plant, check out this article by West Coast Seeds: Seeds to Start in June.

Flower Power: Growing Community
This year we could all use a little brightening up! Join People, Plants and Homes and your neighbours in our new community program, Flower Power! This spring they will be distributing flower bouquets to seniors and residents of a BC Housing building in your neighborhood, with flowers grown in our community.
They are looking for help to make these bouquets bright and full. If you find yourself with any flowers to spare, we will be welcoming flower donations on Wednesday mornings twice a month throughout the summer. Drop-off donations will be accepted in Kitsilano. They can provide flower seeds if you would consider adding a few more flowers into your planting plans.
If you are interested in growing flowers for seniors in Kitsilano, send us an email and we will send you more information!
