February at the Cambie & 59th Garden

Hello fellow gardeners,

The pleasant winter weather continues, and you can sense spring just around the corner. Time to turn our attention to the business of gardening.

Here are a few updates for the upcoming growing season, as well as important information on how to register and pay for your garden beds for the 2019 growing season:

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

Most gardeners have already registered and paid for their beds, but if you haven't yet done so, we ask you to take a moment to follow the link below and complete a very simple online registration form. This form also allows you to pay for your garden bed(s) online using your credit card.

Click here to register and pay for your garden beds for 2019.

The deadline for registering and paying your garden fee will be our Meet & Greet event in early April.

Note  that the garden beds you were allocated in 2018 are yours for 2019!

GARDEN MEET & GREET

The garden is open year-round, but our official Meet & Greet event will take place sometime in early April (TBA in the next newsletter). This event is a fun one and not to be missed––be sure to look out for it!

The Meet & Greet also serves as the final deadline for Garden Registration and Payment.

If we haven't received your online form and payment by this time, your beds will be offered to a gardener on our wait list. If you wish to pay your Gardener Fees with cash or cheque, the event is a great time to deliver this method of payment.

GARDEN TIPS: PLANNING YOUR GARDEN

We're still about a month away from ideal seeding conditions for most early spring crops (like radishes, spinach, mustard, kale and lettuce), but there's nothing wrong with planning ahead.

This cheat sheet offers a handy companion planting graphic to help guide your choices of what to bunch together in your beds.
