Mid Spring at 4th and MacDonald

Hello 4th & MacDonald gardeners,

We are now half way through spring and all systems are a go.  I see most gardeners have cleared their beds of weeds and planted out their first spring crops -- how exciting!!!

We’re happy to announce the garden is at capacity and all beds have been allocated.

Some important deadlines:

May 15th - Sign Up Deadline - If you haven’t registered your bed/s for the 2020 season, we will be allocating these beds to gardeners on the waitlist. Sign up to your reserved garden bed (you will need your current Garden Bed # to register) here: www.communitygardenapp.com  *Only sign up for the beds you have been allocated.

May 31st - Garden Bed Use Deadline - If we see that you are not growing in your bed/s, we will allocate your bed/s to gardeners on the waitlist.  Please make sure you grow within your bed/s, as there is a high demand for garden beds this year.

GARDENING IN COVID-19

If you haven’t read our new gardener rules guideline and best practices, please make yourself familiar with them as they are currently implemented within the garden. Read here: Community Garden Guidelines

WATER

The water is flowing through the hoses and there for you to make use of.

A couple pointers about the watering system:

1. The main ON/OFF control is located at the tail end of the hose.

2. If the valve is ON and the water's still not coming out, check the hose for a kink.

3. There is no need to coil the hose back up when you're done with it; simply hook the nozzle over the edge of the garden shed and leave it for the next person to use.

4. Make sure the valve has been turned OFF when you leave.

And be sure to get in touch if the system's either leaking or not working properly. Hoses and nozzles are the number one thing that breaks/malfunctions during a gardening season.

Happy Growing!!

Andrew.
