Happy New Year!! January has arrived and with it the rain. It’s might seem strange to start planning what you’re going to be growing in the spring time when it’s raining outside, but your future self will be thankful for all the extra planning when the warmer months start to roll around.
It’s that time of year again where the mornings are frosty and the leaves are falling. If you haven’t cleaned out your beds of the wilting summer plants, now is a great time. It’s also a good idea to line your beds with the fallen leaves to keep them mulched over the winter.
Fall has officially arrived and it’s time to start preparing for the winter. If you’re not planning on growing over the winter months October is a great time to harvest the last of your summer veggies and pull out any dead or dying plants.
With the summer season coming to end it’s a great idea to get your fall/winter garden planted. Not only will this keep your yields going into the fall it will also allow you to grow through the winter months and get a great jump on spring next year.
